Michael Jackson is dead and ....

In today's world, one doesn't have to be in Los Angeles. One only needs to have a handphone, internet connection or Cable TV to be informed of any event around the world.

It's not even 7 am and already I've received two smses to inform me that Michael Jackson died. Last night I saw the news the Farrah Fawcett succumbed to cancer. No one cared, no one smsed. It was just news. But Michael Jackson dying of a heart attack is BREAKING NEWS.

I wasn't a fan of Farrah Fawcett. I considered her frivolous and full of herself. Well, that's just my opinion. Anyway, I had always thought Jaclyn Smith more beautiful to look at and, if I were a guy, she would be my choice!

While it is really sad that he is dead, it's the children that I am thinking of and, strangely, worried about. What will become of them? As always, I know there will be everyone scrambling to get custody of them. I can only pray that they will come out of this media circus unscathed.

Rest in peace, Michael Jackson. Rest in peace, Farrah Fawcett.

Hi my dear Lita,

I was in the middle of a beautiful dream when I received a sms about MJ's death. Like you, I worry for his children. Because of their background, they will be easy prey to those who want fame, fortune (if there is any left) and the stories that they could tell when they grow up. Life is so short and it is easy to lose perspective if we do not focus our eyes in Him. As for Farah Fawcett, I hope that she felt loved by Ryan O'Neal during her last moments...Truly, may they rest in peace....

Take care and have a blessed weekend.

MWS: By a stroke of circumstances, I'm able to watch CNN and follow the breaking news right now.

I'd not thought of the stories, those kids could tell. Hmmm, you have a point there!!!

Hugs
Lita

I am really saddened by MJ's passing. It's like a part of my Life is now taken away only to be treasured away, from now, only in fond memories, as I grew up listening to his music.
He is truly iconic as far as his musical genius is concerned. He is God's Gift to us mere mortals to enrich our lives to give us pleasure - Stars that shone bright and all burnt out prematurely, like James Dean, Elvis,Marilyn,Bruce Lee and even our very own Sudirman and P. Ramlee, etc.
What ever it is, at the end of the day, they are only humans, still.
They are our creations, saints or sinners. We put them on a pedestal,we idolised them and we expect them to be "normal" like us when they are not ,when they are supernovas !
I really feel sad for MJ as I cannot even imagine how it was like to have a childhood and a life like his, always being in the spot light with every detail of his life under public scrutiny, 24/7 !
My heart felt condolence to his family, children and fans for their great loss and may MJ rest in peace!

Ocho-onda: It's tragic for anyone to die young and when I encounter tragedy in any form, I always take it as an opportunity to check my own life. Otherwise we live like we are immortals! :)

I hope other celebrities are doing the same.

I pray the kids get love and support. They will need it.

Enjoyed your visit. Come again! ;)

I'm wondering if perhaps his children will have a chance at a more 'normal' life now? It can't have been, with him - normal, I mean. But that's me, seeing things upside down.

And: You liked Jaclyn Smith? I liked Kate Jackson!!! Cos she was the bright and the bossy one! Does that tell you anything about me?

I did love Farah Fawcett's hair, though. It was always beautiful and feathery.

It's sad Michael Jackson's death so over-shadowed hers. But that's just him: he was a 'mega' everything, even in death.

May they both find peace in eternity.

Pat: In some way it's correct to see things upside down. Very often, it's having a different perspective that makes us unique. We certainly are that, aren't we? :)

While we may consider his children's life to be less than 'normal' by our standards, in their eyes it is the only 'normal' that they've ever known. Whether it pans out to be better for them, only time will tell.

Miss you!

Hugs!
