Malaysia Day

46 years ago, a new nation, Malaysia, came into being, comprising Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore. Singapore today treads a different path but Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak continue to share a common destiny.

I got the intro from here.

It's so simple to understand and yet it begs the question of why we don't have any official celebration to recognise this unity.

In my own small space in the virtual world, let me just say

HAPPY MALAYSIA DAY
EVERYONE!

Hi Lita

I couldn't agree more. September 16 should be made a public holiday for Malaysia Day with all the celebrations in recognition of the formation of Malaysia.

de minimis, Thanks for your comment. I appreciate it. I agree that it should be a holiday so we can explain to the children why it is so. :)

David, Many of us agree on this and I wonder when the Government will take this into consideration. :)
